LAMB STEW (Kuzu Haşlama)

Lets go back to basics and have some heart warming feast. This meal is meat in its good plain state. And maybe a most easier way of cooking meat as well, since there are no tricks involved. The only trick you need is in finding a very fine piece of lamb. In this dish, I used shank, rib and shoulder; one or two pieces from each. You may choose only one or mix, its all up to you but including bones enhances taste. 


 
Ingredients:

  • 1 kg lamb (shank, rib and shoulder) 
  • 1/2 kg baby potatoes 
  • 10 shallots 
  • 10 cloves of garlic 
  • Thyme 
  • Salt 

Preparation:

  • Wash the meat with cold water. 
  • Put all the ingredients except potatoes in a large saucepan and add water to cover all. 
  • Bring to boil and let it simmer for 30 minutes. 
  • Add potatoes and continue cooking for another 30 minutes. 
  • Serve with green items.
